The Thornhill Trail is a kid-friendly, 1.8 mile trail that is good for all ages and is located near Crossville, Tennessee in Fairfield Glade. This is a fairly flap loop along a grassy and gravel road. Directions: From the Peavine 4-way stop take Peavine Road East towards Hebbertsburg. After 0.5 miles turn right on to Westchester Drive. After 2.0 miles turn right into the Dorchester Golf Club parking lot. Park away from the clubhouse, near Westchester Drive at the trail-head.

The trail starts by carefully crossing Westchester Drive onto Thornhill Lane. Most roads are unsigned so follow the trail posts and signs. The golf club offers ample parking, a snack bar and restrooms. To begin your hike there is a short “bridge” over a ditch providing easy access from the parking lot to cross Westchester Drive to Thornhill Road and then follow the yellow stakes and arrows at road junctions along the route.

There are three benches at various points for you to rest and enjoy your surroundings. A short walk onto the dam, using the stepping stones to cross the spillway if necessary, will take you to the bench facing Lake Malvern where you can enjoy the stunning lake view. Retrace your steps across the spillway and rejoin the trail to follow the marker posts back to the parking lot.
